My name is Marnie Summerfield Smith. I am a journalist and writer from the seaside town of Whitstable, Kent. My career began ten years ago on a local paper and since then I have been successful as a national freelance working for publications such as the Daily Mail, The Sun, The Guardian and The Times, as well as magazines such as Marie Claire, Woman and Woman's Own.

I have worked in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Malawi, Canada and Greece among other places and interviewed everyone from refugees and teachers to soldiers, businesspeople and celebrities on issues such as grief, disability, adoption, relationships, mental illness and life-changing experiences.

In addition to my journalism, I am a ghost-writer - helping people tell their stories. In this role, I co-authored Home From War, which was published by Mainstream in 2009. Home From War is the true story of one of our soldiers injured in Afghanistan and is the first book to have a foreword written by HRH Prince William.

What I have learnt over the last decade is that everyone has a story to tell.

And this is why I have created Your Memoir - a dedicated writing service helping people tell their tales.

You might want Your Memoir written for your own satisfaction or because you want to leave your story behind for the generations to come.

Whatever your reason and whatever your story, you'll need an experienced journalist interested in detail, accuracy, structure and style and a warm, compassionate listener.

I believe that I offer all these qualities.

You can email me at marnie@yourmemoir.co.uk or call me on 07710 721 389. I'll be happy to call you back for a chat with no obligation. Please ask about the discounts I offer. I don't believe that anyone should be prevented from telling their story, simply due to cost if at all possible.

Thank you, Marnie
