Have you ever dreamed of writing your life story?
You don’t know where to start? You haven’t got enough time? You’re eager but you feel overwhelmed?
I can help you. My name is Marnie Summerfield Smith and I am a ghostwriter based in Kent in the UK. I set up Your Memoir in 2011 to help people like you tell their stories.
I became a ghostwriter in 2008. I had been a journalist for seven years, starting out on my local paper before going on to freelance for the National Press and women’s magazines. The transition from journalist to ghostwriter came when I realised that one of my stories could become a book. Home From War was published by Mainstream, an imprint of Random House, in 2009. It was the first book to have a foreword written by Prince William.
If you decide that I can help you write your story, I will sit with you and help you remember everything that you want to include. Then I will write your book as if I am you. You are the author, and when we are finished you will feel as if you have personally written every single word.
If you have already started writing your story, I offer a reading and editing service. If you want your memoir to go public I can give you guidance on getting published. Perhaps you would like to upload it as an e-book for Kindle, Amazon’s e-reader, or use a print-on-demand service. I can help you. Maybe you just want a few copies for family and friends, and I can advise on how to do that, as well.
Wherever you are in the world, we can work together. We can meet in person, talk on the telephone or chat on email, Skype or Google Hangout. In the last four years I have worked with authors in Kent, the Cotswolds and Scotland, as well as United States, Australia and Lebanon.
If you wish your parents or grandparents would write their memoirs, I offer gift vouchers for special occasions that might just encourage them to get started.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you write your memoir.
